Moldova announces the dates of their national selection

TRM has announced the rules and dates for next year’s Moldovan national selection. Songs can be sent in to the broadcaster until the 15th of December. The semi-finals will be held on the 24th and 26th of February and the national final will take place on the 28th of February.

Like in recent years, the Moldovan entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest will be chosen in a national final and the Moldovan national broadcaster has revealed today the dates of the upcoming national selection, which will be held at the end of February.

The deadline for the applications is the 15th of December and a multi-stage process will be used to narrow down the submitted songs. First of all, on the 17th of December, a professional jury will listen to all the submitted entries and will pre-select sixty of them that will get the chance to perform live in front of the jurors who will evaluate their vocal skills and performing abilities. That live audition will be held on the 19th of December in Moldova’s capital city, Chisinau.

Out of those sixty candidates, only twenty-four songs will proceed to the semi-finals that will be held on the 24th and 26th of February with twelve acts involved in each of them. Eight acts will qualify from each semi-final. Seven of them will be chosen by the combination of televoting and the votes of an expert jury and one of them will be determined exclusively by the audience.

The big final will be held on the 28th of February. Both jury and audience will be able to vote for their favourite act and the winner will represent Moldova in Vienna next May.

Last year, Cristina Scarlat represented Moldova with her song Wild Soul. She achieved a 16th place in the first semi-final, but failed to qualify to the Grand Final. You can watch her performance in our 3D video below.
