Zgodba Brez Napake: Omar Naber returns with new song

Slovenia’s representative in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, Omar Naber is back with a brand new release. Zgodba Brez Napake, which is a rock song, has just been released together with a video shot at a bar in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana.

Omar Naber represented Slovenia in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Stop when he was 24 years old. Unfortunately he was stopped from reaching the final, when he finished 12th out of 25 semi finalists with a total of 69 points.

The contest, which was held in Ukraine that year, and was won by Helena Paparizou with My Number One, only featured one semi final back then. Nevertheless despite the disappointment of missing the final, Omar has continued his singing career releasing three albums and touring around Europe. He also attempted to represent Slovenia at Eurovision again in 2009, 2011 and 2014.

Omar has now decided to try his luck again with the release of a new single Zgodba Brez Napake, which translates to English as Story Without Mistakes. The accompanying video sees him perform with his band Kareem at the Orto Bar in Ljubljana, and is shot entirely in black and white. It’s a slightly rocky affair with a light touch of punk, perhaps not too readily made for the main stream audience, but it suits his voice. See what you think as you watch the performance below.

The song is released to celebrate Omar’s birthday, which was yesterday, when he turned 35 years old. This is his birthday gift to his fans.
