Ukraine ready for three semi-finals – 24 acts announced today

Starting on the 4th of February, Ukraine will broadcast three semi-finals where 24 acts are to be cut down. Among the 24 acts announced today are two who were previously disqualified for hacking the system.

Three semi-finals with 8 acts in each held on the 4th, 11th and on the 18th of February. The best ones goes to the final which will take place on the 25th of February. That’s the way Ukraine will select the lucky one to represent them on home field at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

24 acts were today announced as being the semi-finalists. On Friday, they will be divided on to the three semi-finals.

Among the 24 names are two who back in November were disqualified for hacking the voting system in the online wildcard selection. Their disqualification was changed to an annulment of their votes so far, and as such they were allowed back in, but starting from scratch with zero points. That however didn’t stop them from winning the wildcard round, and as such both are to be found among the 24 semi-finalists.

Many fans had hoped to see Hardkiss once again in the Ukrainian final after they came second in 2016 with the song Helpless, but speculations have started that their front woman Yulia Sanina might have written the song for the band Detach. She previously mentioned that she was working on a potential Eurovision entry, and with her being their mentor on X-Factor, this could be it.

The 24 Ukrainian semi-finalists are:

  • Arsen Mirzoyan
