Semiha Yanki release new single

The first ever Turkish representative, from the 1975 Eurovision Song Contest, has finally released a new single. The song is arranged by another former participant, Ahmet Koc who took part in 1997.

Semiha Yanki has announced through her social media accounts the release of her new single. The name of the song is Tukendim.

Tukendim is a romantic ballad. The song is about how wearing love can be. Sometimes it gets so hard to put up with love and the one you love, as a result, you feel like running away leaving everything behind no matter what the consequences may be and no matter how much you have sacrificed. Sometimes running away seems to be the better solution rather than staying in and suffering. In a statement she made, Semiha said ” This song is for the ones who have lost in love”.

The single is produced by Semiha Yanki herself along with Hakan Eren with lyrics and music written by Umit Demir. The arranger of the new single, Tukendim, is no stranger to the Eurovision fans. Ahmet Koc was a part of the Turkish team in 1997.

Semiha Yanki’s Eurovision adventure

Broadcaster TRT asked Semiha Yanki to participate in the first ever Turkish Eurovision National Final at the age of 17. Her potential Eurovision entry was a strong ballad. After the jury and public voting, Semiha Yanki’s Seninle Bir Dakika and the group Cici Kizlar’s Delisin both got the highest points.

Eventually, Semiha was the one who earned the ticket to Stockholm. The 17 year old was suffering from fever on the night of the final. However, she went on, and made the Turks proud with a great performance. She however came in last place, just achieving three votes from Monaco.
