Slovakia announces further details for Oslo 2010

STV selects its song for Oslo on 28 February after a six-week process involving three rounds.  Martin ‘Pyco’ Rausch will host the series of programmes.

The first of six quarter finals (10 songs in each) takes place on Friday 21 January, with the remainder taking place over the following Sundays and Fridays.  STV will use 100 per cent televoting, like the 2009 selection, to choose the four 24 songs for the semi-finals.

The semi-finals, on 14 and 21 February, as well as the final, on 28 February, will select using a 50/50 split of televoting and jury voting.  The make up of the jury is as yet unknown.  Each semi-final will feature 12 songs from the quarter finals.

Slovakia participated in the 2009 Contest after an 11 year break, and this year will be their 6th attempt at victory.  Their best finish was in Oslo, when Marcel Palonder sang Kým nás máš.
