The Singer Has a Song

Armenia has chosen the song which will be sung by Sirusho and will be their third attempt at winning the Eurovision Song Contest.

From a selection of four songs, the public and an expert jury chose ‘Qele Qele’, an ethnic song with contemporary influences. Sirusho was chosen by AMPTV towards the end of last year to represent her country and entries were invited from Armenians in an open competition. From these, the following four songs were performed on a special television show;

I Can’t Control It
I Still Breathe
Qele Qele
Strong

During the show, other famous Armenian singers strutted their stuff, including 2007 Armenian representative, Hayko.

Sirusho will perform ‘Qele Qele’, in a mix of Armenian and English in the first semi-final on Tuesday 20th May.

In my view

If Helena could win with ‘My Number One’, then Sirusho can certainly win with ‘Qele Qele’.
