Melodifestivalen 2013 a viewers success – voting figures shows that Robin almost missed the Final

As the viewing and voting figures has been released there are two things that are remarkable: 4 130 000 viewers (preliminary figures) for the final is the highest number in 7 years and the winner of this year, Robin Stjernberg, was just a bit over 2 000 votes from being voted out in one of the heats.

Last year was a success where 4 110 000 viewers watched when Loreen taking the victory in Melodifestivalen and being the one who would represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. This year the preliminary figures shows that 4 130 000 viewers followed this years Final where Robin Stjernberg took the Victory. This is the highest number of viewers since 2006 (4 240 000 followed when Carola won). On top of this the Final was also watched from 126 624 web browsers.

Over 1 600 000 votes were counted during the Final which means that almost 2 800 000 SEK went to Radiohjälpen (the humanitarian foundation of the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation).

A look at the voting figures reveals some interesting facts, the most remarkable perhaps is that the winner Robin Stjernberg was just a bit over 2 000 votes ahead of Martin Rolinski in the Second chance duel.
