Israel Chooses on 8th March

As Eurovision fans everywhere start anticipating the 2011national finals season, Israel’s national broadcaster, IBA has announced that its entry will be chosen on Tuesday 8th March.

Recent years have seen Israel chose the singer via an internal selection process and the song through the Kdam contest. However, 2011 will see a return to the popular format of different singers for each song. The contest will be held in the city of Rishon LeZion, in the Culture Hall.

Although the draw for the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest has yet to take place, the EBU has already stated that Israel will be in the second semi-final on May 12th. This is because the first semi-final, on May 10th, is on Israel’s Memorial Day, leaving them unable to take part in it.
