Ireland’s performance is no car crash

Our final rehearsal of the day saw the contest’s other twins take to the stage.  This was the most entertaining rehearsal of the day, and you know Jedward will endear themselves to the audience.

There was a huge amount of interest in this final song of the day.  Jedward are well-known in the UK and Ireland and if they repeat this performance next Thursday, Ireland are romping through to the final.

John and Edward are dress in black military tunics with gold trim – the sort of thing Michael Jackson would wear.  Their four backing singers were not in costume, but will be wearing red, black and white on the night.  There are two boys and two girls singing, and it could be argued they carried Jedward a little.  One of the twins starts off lying on the stage with the other at his feet.  There is a lot of dry ice on the stage which may affect the lying twin if he’s there too long.  Once he stands up, all six performers are very mobile during the three minutes of the song.  The twins end the song by doing back flips, and there is copious amounts of red glitter.

The back drop is the most imaginative of the day.  It’s in the same colours of red, black and white, and features Jedward in a cartoon-type format.  It is all most effective.

Jedward may not be the best singers in Düsseldorf, but their very entertaining interpretation of this song makes you smile, and should get them safely through to the Saturday night final.
