Eurovision 2013 day 5 – Russia’s second rehearsal

Fresh faced Dina Garipova from Russia really wowed those watching on Monday with a stellar performance and a classy stage act. Would she be able to top her initial performance with an even better one? She certainly didn’t disappoint.

The backdrop is covered in fetching hues of oranges and purples with dimmer round lamps scattered across the stage adding to the effect. Dina is wearing the same outfit as in her first rehearsals – the flowing peach and white creation which makes her seem older and somehow frumpier.

Vocally, Dina was very much on form once again, delivering three solid performances with not a bum note in sight. Her voice carries well and projects fantastically from the stage. Her backing singers also contribute with strong vocal support. She pours herself into her very emotive act with plenty of hand and arm movements, but otherwise precious little choreography to speak of. The whole routine is completed with her four backing singers moving to the fore and joining her in line to raise their arms aloft, very befitting for such a rousing, anthemic number. Once again, the Russians deliver a polished rehearsal that should easily guarantee them a place in the final.
