Danish national finalist to play together with Pierce Brosnan in film by Oscar winning director

Trine Dyrholm, who participated in the Danish final as a teenager in 1987, have later tuned her career into being quite a successful actress. In her coming film, directed by 2011 Oscar winning Susanne Bier, she plays together with well known Irish – American actor Pierce Brosnan.

She was just 14 years old when she finished third in the Danish national final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, with the song Danse I Måneskin, which afterwards became a massive hit. Shortly after that she released an album – and that is basically the story of Trine Dyrholm‘s singing career. As an actress however she has been quite active having appeared in more than 20 films and several TV series as well, both Danish and international ones.

Trine Dyrholm’s next film will be premiered in September. It is titled Den Skaldede Frisør (The bold hairdresser), but has been given the less obscure title Love Is All You Need for the international market. In that film she plays together with Pierce Brosnan who is in particular known for his role as Agent 007 in four James Bond films, but also had a leading role in the film edition of the musical Mamma Mia, based on ABBA‘s music.

The new film is directed by Danish Susanne Bier, who won both a Golden Globe and an Oscar in 2011 for best foreign film. That was Hævnen (The revenge), which was titled In A Better World for the international market. Trine Dyrholm also played in that one. Susanne’s real breakthrough came in 1999 with the massive successful Den Eneste Ene (The One And Only) and in 2007 her film Efter Brylluppet (After The Wedding) was nominated for an Oscar as best foreign film. Susanne Bier’s first film in English came in 2007 titled Things We Lost In The Fire. That film featured among others Halle Berry and David Duchovny, so it is not the first time Susanne will be working with big international actors.

Den Skaldede Frisør is mainly in Danish with Pierce Brosnan speaking English, but as the trailer, which you can see below, reveals then he does have a few lines in Danish as well.
