Bettan hopes to repeat Showgirls’ success

Elisabeth Andreassen or Bettan as she is known to her fans first sang her way into the hearts of many Norwegians back in 1985 as one half of Bobbysocks. Since then, she has gone on to become one of the most popular artists in Norway. The cabaret show Showgirls gave Andreassen even more success, playing a string of packed performances.

Such was the popularity of Showgirls that the fabulous foursome are back for more, hoping to repeat the success they acheived five years ago. All four original members are back – Elisabeth Andreassen, who is known to many for her number of appearances under the Swedish and Norwegian flags in 1982, in 1985 with La Det Swinge, 1994 and 1996. Andreassen will be accompanied by another former Eurovision entrant, namely jack of all trades Guri Schanke, who we last saw writhing along to latino rhythms on stage for Norway at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest with Ven a Bailar Conmigo. Hilde Lyrån and Marian Aas Hansen complete the quartet, each accomplished entertainers in their own right.

The Showgirls show will also mark the 100th anniversary of the Chat Noir venue, giving the audience even further reason to celebrate! The fab four promise their fans a show that brings a touch of the glamour that you’d normally assosciate with the likes of Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, combining elements of comedy, music, dance glitz and glamour in a show claiming to be bigger and even more grandiose than before. The Showgirls Must Go On will have its premiere at the Chat Noir venue on the 6th of September. The lovely ladies are backed by a fantastic orchestra under the auspices of Spellemann prize winner Hans Mathisen, and the show is directed by Johan Osuldsen, who has also enjoyed immense success with blockbuster musicals such as Mamma Mia! and We Will Rock You. The show will continue until the 20th of October

Tickets are available through Billettservice and start at NOK 485 and cost up to NOK 585.
