3JS entry Je Vecht Nooit Alleen becomes Never Alone

Dutch entrants 3JS are currently busy in the studio, recording the english version of their winning song Je Vecht Nooit Alleen. Whether or not the english version will remain close to the original Dutch version is not yet known, as only the title has been revealed as being Never Alone.

3JS publicity manager Paul Jong confirmed that recordings are currently in progress at the Votown Studios in Volendam and expects the engish version to be completed within the next few days. Exactly when the new english version will be released however is not yet known.

Exactly which language the trio will chose to perform their entry in has been the source of a great deal of speculation, and according to Jong, the decision has still not yet been made. The group will have to make up their minds soon though, as the final entry has to be submitted to the EBU no later than the 14th of March. The band members apparently won’t decide which language to use before both versions are completed and they compare the two. Despite recording an english language version, Dutch broadcaster TROS is known to be very pro Dutch language, which could result in Dutch being the language of choice for the second year running if the broadcaster gets to make the final decision.

Whatever the trio decide upon, it won’t affect the success of their entry which is currently sitting pretty at number 23, after reaching number one and seeing 4 weeks of action on the Dutch charts. The experienced trio have also garnered acclaim from former winner Alexander Rybak, who is extremely impressed with Je Vecht Nooit Alleen, saying that it’s one of the most outstanding songs this year, a beautiful ballad. 3JS will perform their entry 18th in the second semi final this year. Hopefully Düsseldorf will see a return for the Netherlands to the final for the first time in 7 years, sorely needed in order to restore flagging interest for the contest in the country.
