The 2nd show of Unser Star für Oslo, to decide who will represent Germany in Oslo, took place on Tuesday February 9. The creator of the show, Stefan Raab, was one of 3 judges. The 2 guest jury members were German pop/soul singer, Sarah Connor and a big star of German music, Peter Maffay.

Another 10 acts competed to see who will go to the next phase of the German Unser Star für Oslo. The show will decide which act will eventually compete for Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

The acts will all sing cover versions of songs and the judges will give their thoughts.

So, to the performances –

1. Jennifer Braun sang Anastacia’s I’m Outta Love. Jennifer gave an outstanding performance. Her voice was very strong and she gave a very lively performance. I already started to think she would do very well on the Eurovision stage.

2. Benjamin Hartmann performed Better Together by Jack Johnson. Benjamin gave a confident performance. He strummed a guitar and performed very well.

3. Maria-Lisa Strassburg sang Saving My Face by KT Tunstall. Maria-Lisa also performed with a guitar. The style of song suited her and she made it her own.

4. Behnam Seifi sang Save Room by John Legend. Behnam seemed a little nervous and his vocals were not as strong as the first 3 acts.

5. Sharyhan Osman performed I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston. Sharyhan actually appeared the German Pop Idol 4 years ago. She gave a wonderful performance of Whitney’s song. Another very strong singer.

6. Alex Senzig performed Wherever You Will Go by The Calling. This is an another nervous performance and did not come over very well

7. Jana Wall sang Who Knew by Pink. Jana looked confident and gave a good performance. The judges commented how good looking Jana was and she looked like a pop star.

8. Franziska Weber performed the Jamiroquai song, Love Foolosophy. Franziska wore a blonde wig like Marilyn Monroe. This seemed to detract from her performance. Her voice is quite strong though.

9. Leon Taylor sang Der Weg by Herbet Grönemyer. This was a very soulful song and performance. Very well performed by Leon.

10. Christian Durstewitz took the stage with a guitar to perform George Michael’s Faith. A really confident performance by Christian. The audience liked this.

Now the public were able to vote after a brief reprise of all the performances.
