Iceland particiated in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 1986 with the song Gleðibankinn. One of the team members of Icy is Eirikur Hauksson who also represented Norway in 1991 and Iceland again in 2007.

Bobbysocks won the Eurovision Song Contest for Norway in 1985 with La det swinge. The Norwegian duo consist of Hanne Krogh and Elisabeth Andreasson.

Brian Kennedy represented Ireland in the 2006 Eurovsion Song Contest with this song. In the final it ended 10th.

Dima Bilan, Russian pop idol has participated at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 with his song Never Let You Go and came second.

Greece came 17th in 2002 with this entry S.A.G.A.P.O which means "I love you".

Dana Internationa won the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Diva. She created a lot of headlines due to the fact that she used to be a man!

Portugal has so far never won the contest despite several good entries - with this song they ended 16th in 1989.

This was one out of four winning songs from the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest. United Kingdom, Spain, The Netherlands and France all recieved the same amounts of votes.
