With his latest album “Irishman in America” Johnny Logan is back on the Scandinavian charts, which he more or less owned with the previous CD. With a calendar that doesn’t leave space for much else than touring in Denmark, Sweden and Norway this Irishman has really conquered Scandinavia.
The deadline to enter a song to the 2009 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix ended yesterday with 684 songs submitted. Four out of ten songs will be specially invited and rumours are indicating comebacks to Anne Herdoff and DQ.
After the big success with The Irish Connection Johnny Logan is now preparing a new album. The release date and the name are not yet mentioned, but the album is being recorded in Denmark, Germany, Ireland and the USA.
Plastic Bertrand already had a glorious career in most of Europe in the early '80's. This Eurovision entry didn't boost his career as it never became a big international hit.
It was a coincidence, but couldn’t have been planned better as the Dutch docu-soap with Gerard Joling and Gordon as the main characters started just as I arrived to the Netherlands. I must admit that I don’t know whether I should laugh or cry.

Finally, it seems the BBC is serious about the Eurovision Song Contest. They have always professed to be serious about it and I have been happy to believe them. I’ve never been able to comprehend why they would deliberately want to be embarrassed every year.
