The excitement was no doubt huge for many when an invitation for an upcoming Eurovision concert was sent to their mailbox from the Norwegian Eurovision Fan Club, OGAE Norway. Excitement quickly turned to disappointment however, when it was announced on Friday that the event organiser had no choice but to pull the plug on the imminent concert.

In late November and early December Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö bring back the 80’s in a show called “OnStage goes 80’s". Johnny Logan, Jessica Andersson and Tommy Nilsson will be joined by other well known names in an attempt to give the audience a great evening.

The new album from Tomas Ledin, who represented Sweden at the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest, reached the stores today. It is release number 28 from the well experienced singer who started his career in the early ‘70’s. A summer tour will start in the beginning of July and includes concerts in three Nordic countries.

The preview party in the Netherlands has turned out to become quite a big party with 23 of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest participants confirmed and a former Dutch participant as host. The party takes place in Amsterdam, but all participants will be offered a visit to the capital, The Hague earlier today.

An introduction program tonight for the Danish AllStars 2009 revealed that Mike Tramp (Mabel, 1978) will compete against Bamse (Bamses Venner, 1980) and four other well known Danish artists. A surprise came when Mike Tramp decided to reunite Mabel.  All will be fighting for their city to win money for local charity.

TRT, the Turkish national broadcaster which is the only member of the EBU in Turkey, celebrated its 41st anniversary yesterday in İstanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congre Palace. On that night, there were special guests who have participated for Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest in past.

With his latest album “Irishman in America” Johnny Logan is back on the Scandinavian charts, which he more or less owned with the previous CD. With a calendar that doesn’t leave space for much else than touring in Denmark, Sweden and Norway this Irishman has really conquered Scandinavia.
