The deadline to enter a song to the 2009 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix ended yesterday with 684 songs submitted. Four out of ten songs will be specially invited and rumours are indicating comebacks to Anne Herdoff and DQ.
The album kicks off with the very catchy Get Me High. Simon sings: “I don’t need a prime time TV show to get me high” – it was such a show that brought him fame so can he do without it?
This week seven of the participants from the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest are to be found on the Danish charts. The winner, Dima Bilan, is nowhere to be found on the Top-40 while Sebastien Tellier and Kalomira joins the Nordic participants in a success in Denmark.

With two semi-finals it has been impossible for the Nordic countries to get together for a joined Nordic party as they often do. The only Nordic country to arrange a party this year where the Icelandic's who offered a live concert with Euroband with Simon Mathew as special guest.
Today the Danish representative, Simon Mathew, celebrates his 25th birthday. It happens to be the day of the 2nd Danish rehearsal and on the following press conference he was greeted with three birthday songs, an English, a Danish and a Serbian one.
Until the end of this week every day offers rehearsals and press conferences. It is becoming a nice tradition that most participants performs a bit at their press conferences - and as usual EuroVisionary offers you a summary of how it came across.
It was a coincidence, but couldn’t have been planned better as the Dutch docu-soap with Gerard Joling and Gordon as the main characters started just as I arrived to the Netherlands. I must admit that I don’t know whether I should laugh or cry.

Finally, it seems the BBC is serious about the Eurovision Song Contest. They have always professed to be serious about it and I have been happy to believe them. I’ve never been able to comprehend why they would deliberately want to be embarrassed every year.
