Annette Heick on tour despite pregnancy

It might be a special Danish thing, but just like Kirsten Siggaard participated at the Eurovision Song Contest shortly before giving birth, Annette Heick will be touring with her Christmas show up until three weeks before her second child is set to arrive.

Olsen Brothers latest album features Cliff Richard on two of the songs; one written by Cliff and the other one by the brothers shortly after they won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000. It is called Respect, but do Jørgen and his younger brother Niels “Noller” Olsen deserve that this time?

Having been beaten by Kirsten and Søren's gimicks two years in row Lise Haavik was happy when she won the ticket to represent Denmark at the 1986 Eurovision Song Contest. Lise is still active as singer who sings pop as well as jazz - and then she has found a call teaching in singing.

Respect for the Olsen Brothers

Danish Eurovision Song Contest winners from 2000, the Olsen Brothers, released a new album a few weeks ago. The album, where they sing together with Cliff Richard on two tracks, is called 'Respect' and that is what the brothers deserve after once again climbing the charts.

Comeback for DQ and Anne Herdorff

The deadline to enter a song to the 2009 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix ended yesterday with 684 songs submitted. Four out of ten songs will be specially invited and rumours are indicating comebacks to Anne Herdoff and DQ.

Aqua- star names child after Eurovision entry

When former member of the Danish super group Aqua, interval act at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest held in Copenhagen, René Diff and his wife Rikke Nielsen recently had a daughter they decided to name her after their favourite song from a Dansk Melodi Grand Prix; “Boom Boom” that represented Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1978. Ok, the girl isn’t called “Boom Boom”, but instead Mabel which was the name of the group who sang it.

René Diff and Rikke say that they love the song, as it is about two hearts pounding together in love!

Johnny Logan: "I am stuck between a rock and a hard place"

When the Danish team, AaB tonight plays a champions league match against Manchester United Johnny Logan’s band “The Irish Connection will not be agreeing on who to cheer for – and Johnny himself will be split between the two teams hoping for a draw.

Morten Randrup and Peter Dencker from “The Irish Connection” are AaB fans and hoping for a miracle to happen so that the team from the North Jutland city, Aalborg, will stand a chance against one of the biggest football teams in Europe.

Keld Heick attacks Danish broadcaster, DR

Keld Heick, who has written several Danish Eurovision Song Contest entries, is openly attacking DR for having blacklisted Schlager music. The attack falls together with the Danish Schlager music, the socalled Dansktop, celebrating its 40 years anniversary.
