Dansk Melodi Grand Prix

Mr. Grand Prix Keld Heick has released a solo album with cover versions of rather unknown Rock’n’roll songs from the 1950’s and ‘60’s. For his fans this is very different from the schlager style they are use to, but for Keld it is going back to his roots where he started 50 years ago.

The music from the recently held Danish final has now massively conquered the top of the charts. The album will once again prove to be one of the best selling albums of the year, five of the participating songs are doing well as singles and two of them even as a ringtone.

When Chanée & N’evergreen goes on stage at the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo representing Denmark then it will be with a song both DR and SVT rejected for their 2009 selection. A year ago none of the countries liked In A Moment Like This.

The 2010 edition of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix became a huge success for the broadcaster. 70% were watching the show which is the highest since 2005. Furthermore the quality score of the program ended up being the best ever for a national final in Denmark.

The winner's press conference, held shortly after last night's Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, revealed that Tomas won as he didn't want to let his child down, that their manager won quite a lot of money on them, and that having lived in Russia for six years now means Tomas prefers Ukrainian champagne!

Tonight's Dansk Melodi Grand Prix offered an amazing stage, a fantastic show and 10 acts that all did their very best to win the hearts of the viewers. At the end it was clear that Chanee & N'evergreen  can take the trophy home after winning the honour of representing Denmark at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.

The dress rehearsal Friday evening provided us with indications of what to expect for tonight's show. One thing is sure - it is going to be a colourful show on a stage which hasn't been seen better for years. The long catwalk with water next to it - and even a small swimmingpool brings memories back to the best Danish show from 1984.

The 2010 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix was official kicked open with a reception last evening. EuroVisionary was present and talked to one of the participating singers, a ditto songwriter, a Eurovision-veteran who has become guardian angel and one of the hosts of the show that will pick the Danish representative for the international Contest in Oslo.

Once again it is a lot of well known names with a successful background that participates at the Danish final. Several of the songwriters have won national finals before and added that several of the singers have experienced international success it points in the direction of a very strong final, but who will win?
