An RTÉ source has confirmed to EuroVisionary.com that the 2009 Irish national final will be broadcast as part of a Late Late Show special.

For some, it is the perfect result, for others, it is the worst possible outcome. The hopes of the most victorious Eurovision country rest this year on the shoulders, breasts and wings of a turkey.  For a country known for giving us sincere ballads, this is somewhat of a departure.

One of the most anticipated finals of the Eurovision season, the Irish Eurosong 2008 was held tonight in the University Concert Hall, Limerick.

With the most eargerly anticipated Irish national final in years due to take place this coming Saturday RTE radio premiered the six entries that will compete for the Irish ticket.

Every year either RTE give the Irish media something to complain about the Irish final or the Irish media find something to complain about.  But are they making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Over the years, many turkeys have been sent to Eurovision, but will Ireland be the first country, in the history of the contest, to send a real one? Dustin the turkey may be "fowl" mouthed but he's also a successful singer with 6 hit albums under his wing!
