Maltese national broadcaster, PBS has just announced the seventy entries that made it to the second round of the Maltese selection. Yesterday the national final date was announced following the submission of two hundred and ten entries last month for the 2014 Malta Eurovision Song Contest.
Malta will select it's entry for the next Eurovision Song Contest on 8th February 2014. National broadcaster PBS announced the date for the forthcoming national selection better known as the 2014 Malta Eurovision Song Contest. A day before the national final a semi-final show will take place where twenty songs will compete for fourteen final spots.
The Festival Internazzjonali tal-Kanzunetta Maltija (FiKM) has returned in Malta after an absence of 11 years. The winning act was the 2007 Maltese Eurovision participant, Olivia Lewis, with Hawn mill- Ġdid. Many other singers who have participated in Eurovision or the Eurosong performed including Miriam Christine, Janvil and Domenique Azzopardi.

In an unexpected announcement, the Maltese broadcaster has confirmed today that Malta will be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. For the first time, the Maltese representative has been picked by an internal selection and the talented Gaia Cauchi is the lucky one.
Last night the 2013 Konkurs Kanzunetta Indipendenza contest was held in Malta. The contest featured many acts that had previously participated in the Malta Eurosong selections. The winning act was none other than the 2001 and 2006 Eurovision singer Fabrizio Faniello with the song, Aħfirli Jekk Trid.
Two former Eurovision participants from each their part of Europe have joined forces on a new EP. Under the title Two Divas Icelandic Hera Björk and Maltese Chiara have released 5 songs, one of them being a duet of Dolly Parton's classic 9 to 5.
"Waiting For Tomorrow" is the title of the first album from the doctor Gianluca Bezzina, who represented Malta at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. It is now available in digital stores and the official worldwide release of the physical version will take place tomorrow. It contains his Eurovision entry along with nine other feelgood tracks.
