The bookmakers have Denmark as their top favourite to win the Eurovision Song Contest next month in Malmö - and so far the fans are pretty much in agreement with this. After the points from five of the fan clubs Emmelie de Forest has a clear first position as the fan favourite of the year.
Today came what many had been waiting for; the exaxt running order of the two semi-finals. For the first time it was decided by the producers together with EBU, instead of the usual draw. Austria will be opening the first semi-final while Latvia will kick off the second one.
Domenique Azzopardi and her brother, Christian, have both released new songs in Malta. Domenique has recorded a Maltese version of Little Child (Mary Spiteri Malta ESC 1992). It is called Tfajjel Ckejken. Christian has released The Party Of Our Life, a song originally submitted for Eurovision.
Yesterday the organisers were able to present three former Eurovision winner Carola as a special guest performer for Eurovision In Concert. A total of 18 participants are so far confirmed as well for the preview party to be held in Amsterdam on the 13th of April.
Today the Head of Delegation meeting took place in Malmö. All the participating entries have now been officially handed it to EBU, the Reference Group got three new members, the starting position in the final for the host country was drawn and the premiliminary dates for next year's contest announced.
Domenique Azzopardi has not only been busy taking part in the Malta Eurosong with Too Little Too Late, where she reached the final, but she has also released a brand new single, The Last Time. The song is composed by Rita Pace and Mark Debono
Last weekend Gianluca Bezzina won the Maltese national final and will thereby be representing the island at the Eurovision Song Contest this year. EuroVisionary caught up with both him and last year's Maltese winner Kurt Calleja.
Ylenia Vella competed in the semi-final of the 2013 Malta Eurosong with Tides Of Illusion. Despite the disappointment of not making it to the final, Ylenia has triumphed at the Malta Music Awards, where she won the Upcoming Artist Award for her song, My Everything.
On Friday night, Malta narrowed a field of 24 songs down to 16, all vying to be the one to represent the island in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in May. The final has now finished and Gianluca Bezzina has been chosen to fly the flag for the island nation in Malmö. After a close race, Gianluca beat off competition from favourite Kevin Borg.
Tonight Malta will select the song to represent them in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. Last night 16 acts competed in a semi final and qualified for the final at the MFCC in Ta'Qali, Malta.
