Marlain to Represent Greece in Serbian "Pan Music" Festival

The city of Pancevo, Serbia, will host the 2nd International Pop Music Festival “Pan Music” on the 29th and 30th of August. Marlain will represent Greece with her song Rejection!

After a long successful international career Nana Mouskouri has decided to stop at the age of 73! Thursday evening she is giving her very last concert – and it all ends in her birth country, Greece at Herodion near Acropolis.

Greece traditionally has a miniature melodrama before deciding on their participant for the Eurovision Song Contest.  This year sees a break with that tradition as ERT have confirmed that Sakis Rouvas will once again be the Greek representative at the contest.

A huge surprise awaited the fans who showed up for James Blunt's concert in Limassol, the host city of JESC 2008. Anna Vissi who has represented both Cyprus and Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest joined him on stage. Speculations about a future collaboration has started.

2008 Melodifestival participants are still well represented on the Swedish single top 60 where several names from the Eurovision Song Contest now have entered as well. Kate Ryan, who represented Belgium in 2006, is this week ranked higher than any of them though all are beaten by football songs!

This week seven of the participants from the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest are to be found on the Danish charts. The winner, Dima Bilan, is nowhere to be found on the Top-40 while Sebastien Tellier and Kalomira joins the Nordic participants in a success in Denmark.

With still over a week to go before the Eurovision final, today was the sixth day of rehearsals in the Belgrade Arena. One of the favourites for the prize, Armenia, was on stage first.

Today was the second day of rehearsals and press conferences. The first country to rehearse was Poland, although the press conference didn’t take place until this evening.

Kalomira, the American-Greek singer who will represent Greece in Belgrade, was in Turkey as part of her promo schedule. She appeared on a TV talk-show called 'Beyaz Show' to promote her song and she also took some time to answer Beyazit Öztürk's (host) questions.
