Tonight, Armenia chose its representative for the 55th Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Oslo this year. Nine acts fought it out to take the ticket to Oslo and Eva Rivas emerged victorious. 

First Controversy of 2010 Comes from Armenian Selections

As the national finals get into full swing across Europe, controversy is starting to creep in to the Armenian selections. One of the songs due to compete in the final has been found to be similar to two other songs.

Armenian national broadcaster, ARMTV, has announced the dates of the national selections, performers and songs to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

39 countries to participate in Oslo - three countries less than last year

EBU has just announced that a total number of 39 countries will participate at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo in May. Hungary, Czech Republic and Montenegro do not wish to take part while no new countries will be joining or rejoining the Contest.

Armenian public broadcaster, CJSC, have announced the rules of the Armenian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, which will be held in the capital of Norway, Oslo, in May.

Neighbour points doesn’t exist between Azerbaijan and Armenia – the political fight between the two countries have resulted in Azerbaijani police questioning people who voted for Armenia in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.  They are being classified as a potential security threat.
