The participants have arrived to Cyprus and just like at the Eurovision Song Contest it means that it is time for final rehearsals to start. The official welcome party kicks off tonight and with the theme Fun in the sun everyone should have a great time on the Island where winter seems far away.

The preselection of the nominee for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Cyprus this year, has concluded in Armenia. Monika Manucharova, a twelve year old talented girl who is homeless, won the selection with her ambition and took the ticket for Limassol.

After having qualified for the final, the first ten qualifier had to pick a number that would be their starting position in the final. EuroVisionary brings you the exiting moments on video so you can see how the ten participants reacted to their lucky number.

Despite having been rehearsing for a week and held the obligatorily press conferences afterwards the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest was officially opened on Sunday evening.

Today was the second day of rehearsals and press conferences. The first country to rehearse was Poland, although the press conference didn’t take place until this evening.

Sirusho who will represent debut country Armenia at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest is at the moment on a big promotion tour around Europe. A promotion package will include a DVD, a T-shirt and the CD.

Armenia has chosen the song which will be sung by Sirusho and will be their third attempt at winning the Eurovision Song Contest.
