The third semi-final of Iceland’s Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins' was held last Saturday by its national public broadcaster RUV. Two acts claimed the last places available in the final.

For the second week in a row the Finnish single top20 features four of the entries from the newly held Eurovision Song Contest. All of them have suffered a little drop though compared to the first week where three of them were placed as second, third and fourth.

Eurovision Song Contest winner Alexander Rybak is having success on the chart in Ireland where also the local hope Sinead Mulvey & Black Daisy is doing well. Icelandic Yohanna is represented on the single chart as well - and an ABBA album can soon celebrate 100 weeks on the Irish chart.

Not qualifying for the final doesn’t stop Lovebugs success on the Swiss chart where also Icelandic Yohanna is placed. Paolo Meneguzzi and his Era Stupendo, the Swiss entry for last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, has just dropped out of the list where the winner is nowhere to be found.

Eurovision Song Contest winner Alexander Rybak is popular in both the Netherlands and Belgium. De Toppers is doing well on the Dutch chart and in Belgium Hadise is on both the ones from Flanders and Wallonia, although the two charts are very different.

It is not common that a Eurovision Song Contest winner makes it to the UK chart – or that their own participant does. Both Alexander Rybak and Jade Ewen made it – together with the official album with all 42 participating songs.

The official album with all 42 participating songs is selling well in Denmark and Norway while the Swedish single chart practically is flooded by this year’s entries. Alexander Rybak is, to no surprise, popular in all three Scandinavian countries.

DR has published the Danish jury votes which show quite some difference from the televoting. The jury awarded Iceland with the 12 points and countries like Estonia and Russia also did better with the jury than the televoting.

The results of both semifinals have now been released by the EBU. They make interesting reading. The jury overturned the telephone vote to save countries in each of the semifinals. Quite annoying if your country finished 10th in the phone vote.

In a contest which nobody could call close, Norway won the 54th Eurovision Song Contest in the Olympiyskiy Arena in Moscow. He scored a record 387 points, leaving him a long way in front of Iceland and Azerbaijan in second and third places respectively.
