Ukraine has revealed its selection process for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest – a talent show developed by Freemantle media – the company famous for its incredibly popular American Idol show, which spawned copies in many countries around the world. Well known names Fhilip Kirkorov and Ani Lorak will be involved.
Tereza Kerndlova represented Czech Republic at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Have Some Fun. She is back with a new single, Přísahám (I Swear), from her forthcoming new album due for release in September.
The young Sámi band from Northern Norway, BlackSheeps, who came 2nd in this year's Melodi Grand Prix with Dance Tonight as well as winning the Melodi Grand Prix Nordic contest in 2008 with Oro Jaska, Beana, have ended up in a fierce legal battle.
Turkish flash group MaNga, who recorded the highest placing for Turkey since 2003, has been nominated for the 2010 Music Awards for TRT. Another ex-representative, Mor ve Ötesi, and this year's Turkish participant, Yüksek Sadakat, will also compete against MaNga.
Minutes ago the first Norwegian qualifying heat ended. Helene Bøksle and Åste & Rikke made it to the final while two others will be in for a second chance to show that they got what it takes to represent the country at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. The show also featured Alexander Rybak in an interesting collaboration with a heavy metal band.
Friðrik Ómar has previously participated both as a backing singer and as a featured artist for Iceland in several Eurovision Song Contests, making him a well known face and extremely popular with many fans. Not one to rest on his laurels, he has numerous projects currently in the pipeline.
