The first Romanian semi final went off without to much fuss tonight.  It was a long show, but they managed to get there in the end and chose six songs for the final. 

After choosing the first 5 finalists last week, this evening Latvia selected the final 5 songs to battle it out in the final on March 1st. It was not obvious which songs would go through and which would be eliminated.
 

After 3 semi-finals and a second chance round, Norway was finally ready to choose its song for the 2008 contest. Eighteen songs were reduced to 6 for tonight’s final. 

It's Melodifestivalen time!  It was a bit of a shocking result for most Eurovision fans, but that's what the Swedes wanted.  Kristian Luuk is back as host again and the comdey kept on flowing in the Scandinavium arena tonight.

I know that many of you couldn't see the final, but we assure you that that was the result. While many you sat in front of your computer screens around Europe and the rest of the world someone in Hungary either forgot to start the webcast or it severely malfunctioned.

Tonight, YLE and Finland held their selection to find the song which they hope will continue their, albeit brief, revival in fortune.

Every year either RTE give the Irish media something to complain about the Irish final or the Irish media find something to complain about.  But are they making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Simon Mathew won the Danish final, but the past couple of days have brought questions to whether or not he is the rightful winner. Did the committee at DR mess up due to working all night long or is something else going on?
