Ictimai TV Announces Eight Azerbaijani Finalists

While there have been rumours that Azerbaijan should have been disqualified from the Eurovision Song Contest due to undemocratic voting, Azerbaijani Ictimai TV has announced 8 names for it’s national selections.

EBU Issues Statement About Azerbaijan Voting

Following complaints that some people in Azerbaijan who voted for Armenia were visited by the Police, the Reference Group of the European Broadcasting Union convened to discuss the matter. Today they released the following statement announcing their decision:

Aysel & Arash will be representing Azerbaijan at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with this song called Always. Last year Azerbaijan qualified for the final where they finished 8th.

Azerbaijani Aysel Submitted Her Song for Moscow featuring Arash: Always!

The Azerbaijani respresentative, Aysel Temourzadeh, has submitted her song that she will be performing on stage at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. The Azerbaijani singer will be performing with Arash who has written their entry, Always.
