Before this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest I was asked what it would take for the Nordic countries to return to the Contest. I mentioned a list of things, which would have to change in order for that to be realistic and then I spent two Saturday’s watching the two shows.
Mathias Augustine, who came third in the 2007 edition of MGP Nordic, has released his debut album. As 15 year old Mathias is also European and World champion in Hip Hop the album includes dancing instructions so buyers can learn to dance like him.
Last nights Nordic Junior Contest was for the second time in a row won by Norway. The Blacksheeps’ Oro jaska beana got a clear victory with Denmark coming second in a show with a high level music wise.
The last couple of weeks before the holidays, Swedish broadcaster SVT announced the names for Melodifestivalen 2009. For us Swedes, there are quite a few well known names. Stars like Alcazar, Marie Serneholt, Shirley Clamp and Måns Zelmerlöw are going to participate this year.

With Andrew Lloyd Webber writing the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest entry for the United Kingdom, System of a Down rumoured for Armenia and Johnny Logan for Ireland next year’s Contest can be flooded by so-called “big” names – in that case I would suggest DR to go for Metallica.
