The second semifinal in the Slovakian search fot their 2009 Eurovision Song Contest entrant was held last night. Ten songs competed to be one of the three bests acts that qualified for the final to be held on 8th of March. In total six acts are now still in the running to represent the country that returns to the contest after 11 years absence.  

The Slovakian Broadcaster, STV, has announced details of the semifinals and final of the Slovakian national contest, including the dates of semifinals and final.

Slovakia's national tv channel STV, which is an EBU member, decided to come back to the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time since 1998. STV has announced in a press conference that selections will be held in Bratislava on 8 March and may be preceded by a number of semi finals.
