The Dutch soap opera about De Toppers, who represented the Netherlands at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, continues. Gerard Joling left the extravagant trio, got replaced by Jeroen van der Boom and now rumours indicate that he might be coming back – to replace Gordon who was the reason he left in the first place!

A series of documentaries following The Toppers way to Moscow was aired last night. Weekly programs will take the viewers behind the scenes in the preparations for doing well at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. First episode showed how difficult it is for the new Topper, Jeroen van der Boom to fit in.

A little well kept secret was revealed at the Dutch winning press conference where Gordon from The Toppers revealed why he was particular happy about Shine being the winning song: He wrote it himself! Not even his two other band members knew about this.

For a while we have known that De Toppers, or The Toppers as they will probably be called internationally, will be representing the Netherlands at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Via an open selection 300 songs suggested was cut down to six – and now one song is clear for Moscow; Shine.
