As the national selections get into full swing across Europe, Polish broadcaster TVP has revealed the names of the acts participating in the Polish national final to be held in February.

In one of many finals held tonight, Poland chose its entry for Moscow with the Piosenka Dla Europy 2009 contest. Lidia Kopania won the contest and will as such be representing the country in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with the song I Don't Wanna Leave. 

Today the Polish broadcaster TVP released the songs that are competing in the Polish national final Festiwale I Koncerty. 12 songs are competing in order to represent Poland at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Ten of them are now available to listen to online.   

The deadline for entries to TVP for Piosenka dla Europy 2009 has passed and a total of 89 songs have been submitted. A TVP jury will select seven of these songs to compete in the national final.

It already seems certain that the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will take place without Georgia due to the recent conflict with Russia over the two breakaway regions.  Rumours are today surfacing that Poland may join with it's Baltic neighbours in considering a withdrawal from the 2009 edition.
