The traditional Portuguese selection show Festival da Canção is back, but it has been slightly revamped. There won't be jurors, the audience will be solely responsible for choosing the winner, and it will run over two evenings on the 8th and the 15th of March.
A new Eurovizijos show was held last evening in Lithuania where one more act was eliminated and eight out of the nine participants moved forward to the next stage of the selection process. Furthermore, the Lithuanian broadcaster LRT has released the sixteen potential Eurovision entries.
Following an internal Eurovision committee meeting this week IBA has announced that they have chosen former “Kokhav Nolad” artist Mei Fineberg to represent them at the 59th Eurovision in May. The song she is to sing will be chosen internally from three options and be unveiled soon.
TVR has announced its plans regarding the selection of the Romanian representative for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. Twelve acts will be picked by an internal jury from all the submitted songs to perform at the televised show which will be held on the 1st of March.
Lithuania continues the searching of their next Eurovision representative with a new Eurovizijos show that took place this weekend. A total of ten candidates competed to be among the nine acts which would proceed to the next phase of the national selection process.
The first show of the 52nd Festivali i Këngës took place tonight at Tirana’s Pallati i Konverteve. Sixteen acts are in the run to win this prestigous Albanian festival and thus representing Albania in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.
The 2014 season has started and the first entry is now known. 20 songs were competing in the national final in Ukraine, which resulted in Maria Yaremchuk winning the right to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest in May next year.

The national selection season is about to kick off in Lithuania and this weekend the twenty shortlisted acts that will compete for the ticket to Copenhagen were revealed. The presentation took place at the special concert commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Lithuanian Eurovision debut.
On the 21st of December Ukraine will pick its representative for next year's Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the running for this honour is 20 candidates picked by a jury consisting of people involved in the music industry.
