People decided, TRT announced: Hadise to 2009!

TRT the Turkish broadcaster had a poll about who should represent them at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. According to this poll female singer Hadise has been chosen. According to Hadise she has rejected a Belgian offer to represent them, but is pleased to be do it for Turkey.

The European Broadcasting Union's Turkish member TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corparation) has opened a poll, the type of which has never been tried by any EBU member before. Turkey's participiant for Eurovision Song Contest 2009 will be chosen through the poll result.

Poland to join Georgia and the Baltics in possible withdrawal?

It already seems certain that the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will take place without Georgia due to the recent conflict with Russia over the two breakaway regions.  Rumours are today surfacing that Poland may join with it's Baltic neighbours in considering a withdrawal from the 2009 edition.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has reacted to Georgian and Estonian politicians that they shouldn't get involved with whether or not a country is to participate next year. This is not a place for politics, Svante Stockselius says.

Dima continues on Winner's Tour 2008

It's well over a year now since Marija Serifovic finished her whirlwind tour of six participating Eurovision countries.  This year the tour is back and it's Dima's turn.  The tour has been slightly extended for 2008 with the total number of stops increasing to eight.

RUSSIA WINS EUROVISION 2008

It has finally come to pass, 14 years after their first entry Russia has reigned victorious over the Eurovision Song Contest.  Dima tried back in 2006 and finished second to Lordi but he wasn't dissuaded and came back this year and finished second to no one.
