It has just been announced by Danish broadcaster, DR, that the participants for the national final, the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, will be presented on a press conference on the 5th of January. Ten teams will be fighting to represent Denmark at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku in May.
The official DVD of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 has been released today and is already a hit seller on Amazon. For the first time ever, the official Blu-Ray has been released alongside the DVD.
Just after midnight Saturday evening we’ll know in which country the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest will take place, but we can already add the dates to our calendar. The two semi-finals will take place on the 22nd and 24th and the final to follow Saturday the 26th of May.
At the second Danish press conference this afternnon the band A Friend In London had prepared a speciel version of their entry New Tomorrow... in German!
After a week here in Düsseldorf we have now come to an end of the regular rehearsals and press conferences. Today the last 7 countries in the second semi-final and the 5 automatically qualified finalists will rehearse for the last time before the dress rehearsals.
Day 7 has just started and it is going to be a day where most of the focus will be on the first rehearsals of the 5 automatically qualified countries. What happens when - check the schedule.
What should have been the second Icelandic press conference turned into a fabulous Eurovision party with Sjonni's Friends as our hosts. Judging by the reaction by the press we are very likely to be going to Reykjavík next year as they received the biggest ever applause here in Düsseldorf.
Today offers second and last ordinary rehearsal from both first and second semi-finalists. We kicked off with Iceland and ends in Moldova. EuroVisionary will of course cover it all, but you can already now prepare for what is coming up.
The speedtalking Irish duo left the press puzzled last evening. Is it brilliant or just plain silly? In this video you can hear them sing their entry Lipstick and talk about topics such as girls; in particular two Slovak twins came up.
Today we start the second round of rehearsals for the semi-finalists. It is now the last things needs to be settled in order for it to look good for the semi-finals on Tuesday and Thursday next week. With 13 countries on stage today it will also be the busiest day so far.
