In the last few days, we have heard a lot of rumours about the National Selection for Eurovision in Romania. During this time the EuroVisionary team kept in touch with the organizers of this year Selection, who have sent us the latest news.

Romanian Television (TVR) has announced the start of Eurovision 2010 National Selection. The whole project is coordinated by Ms. Mariana Almasan - Socaciu, who is committed to selecting for Oslo the best song performed by the best voice.

This year, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Ukraine, will host the participants from 13 countries for its 7th running of annual contest. Three countries have withdrawn who competed last year, while one country returns.

On Thursday evening, in a TV show which lasted for two hours, Romania selected the last six songs for their national final. The show was hosted by Radio DJs Orlando, Escu and Popescu in studio 3, and Alina Sorescu and Andi Vilar in the green room.

Yesterday Romania chose the first six finalists from the first Semifinal. They will be joined by another six in the final that takes place on Saturday. The big favourite to win, Tina, got through to the final without any problems.

Today, Romania will choose 24 songs from 168 received for their national selection. The jury will meet today to select the 24 semi finalists that will compete for the honour to represent Romania at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Nico is expected to be among the participants.
