Eurovision Song Contest

No sooner has the euphoria of Lena's triumph in Oslo settled, than the first serious scandal is about to surface regarding the results of this year's contest.

Andy Abraham, who represented United Kingdom at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, will be cycling from London to Paris in September. He is doing this for charity and hopes to be able to raise £10,000.000 for The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust. Donations are already open and he would like your support as well.

In Denmark the Eurovision Song Contest is one of the biggest TV events of the year. That affects the charts where both the single and the album list feature several participants from the recent held Contest in Oslo though none of them were able to take the first position as a double DVD with Danish final clips was.

The French singer of Congolese origin Jessy Matador is enjoying a great success in many European countries, where is at the top of the charts in Greece, Germany, Scandinavia and his video clip is one of the most watched on internet this week.

If there's one thing that made the biggest impression on viewers of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, then it could well have been the amazing interval act featuring the song Glow by Madcon. It is now making it to charts around Europe. 

The 2000 Eurovision Song Contest winners Olsen Brothers celebrates the 10th anniversary for their victory in Europe’s most popular TV show by releasing an album with cover versions of other Eurovision songs. The album also includes a new version of their winning song.

This year's edition of the Eurovision Song Contest provided national broadcaster NRK with one of it's largest audience viewing figures ever and turned out to be a viewing magnet.

The viewing ratings in the United Kingdom were down considerably from 2009 to 5.54 million.  This could have been due to lack of promotion and also the fact the show was up against the popular ITV series, Britain's Got Talent.
