About the song:

The song Unbreakable is played in an uptempo rock style which has roots in the 1980s with its melodies. The song quickly gained a lot of interest from fans and also has high Swiss hopes in the first semi-final of 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.

About the participant:

Starting in the practice room of his father, moving into the underground of San Diego, which was followed by a stop in Los Angeles... The brothers Ivan and Gabriel Broggini brought Europe a lot of their musical experiences with their travel to Switzerland with the song Unbreakable.

The brothers both played guitar, though Gabriel played keyboard and drums at first. As their style hints, they grew up listening to rock music from Queen, Bob Marley and U2.

Their band, Sinplus, released its first album titled 1984 in California, the United States. Their work didn't go as helped carry their fame to Switzerland. At the same time, they created the official anthem of the 2009 World Hockey Championship that was held in Switzerland.

After their recognation in this country, the brothers decided to go a step further with attending the Swiss national final and they submitted a song, Unbreakable to the Italian broadcaster RSI.

About the selection:

The preparations for the Swiss national selection Die grosse Entscheidungsshow - Eurovision Song Contest 2012 first kicked off in October 2011, started by the four national broadcasters, SF, DRS3, RTS and RSI.

German-language broadcaster SF (Schweizer Fernsehen) received a total of 221 songs and six of them were choosen to participate at the national final based upon a result from 50/50 internet and an expert jury voting. Six acts qualified for the final, with Lys Assia being one of them. Lys was searching for her second attempt to the contest after 55 years:

Then it was turn of the Swiss radio broadcaster DRS 3 to choose their representative. Three entries were picked internally as their candidates for the final show:

Atomic Angels - Black Symphony

Italian-language broadcaster RSI (Radiotelevisione Svizzera di Lingua Italiana) followed a different process in the selection. Firstly the corporation chose 22 songs and an expert jury picked 5 of them to participate in RSI's final. The other 17 songs were set for an internet voting and only two of them could get a place in RSI final. Five were decided by a jury vote, two from internet voting - in total seven acts participated in RSI's final where only two of them made it throught to final of Swiss National Selection:

At last, twenty-seven songs were submitted to the French-language broadcaster RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse). An expert jury picked ten songs to participate in RTS' final and only three of them succeded to qualify for the grand final:

A total of fourteen songs participated at the grand final of the Swiss National Selection, Die Grosse Entscheidungsshow on 10th of December 2011. Jury choices and televoting results were decisive on the results as Chiara Dubey, IVO and Sinplus were standing on the top three podium where Sinplus got the honour of representing Switzerland in Baku.
