About the song:

The Social Network Song (Oh Oh-Uh-Oh Oh) is an upbeat dance track sung by Valentina Monetta with lyrics influenced by social media like Facebook and Twitter. The original title was Facebook (Uh, Oh, Oh), however, was changed due to the breaking of rules.

The song has an electronic theme with a catchy repetitive chorus that is sure to get your toes tapping. Everyone is sure to be singing 'Oh Oh-Uh-Oh Oh' in time for the contest in Baku.

About the participant:

Valentina Monetta is already an established singer in San Marino having released an album titled Il Mio Gioco Preferito with popular band My Funky Valentine and two singles to date, Sharp and Se Non Ci Sei Tu (an entry into San Marino RTV for ESC 2008). She originally began experimenting with R&B, soul and hip hop genres before finally settling into jazz with an influence of Italian musical culture.

Valentina was chosen at the last minute by SMtv whilst performing on stage; the San Marino RTV director watching conicidentally. She impressed her so much, she was chosen immediately to represent San Marino at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest with the internally selected song, The Social Network Song (Oh Oh-Uh-Oh Oh).

About the selection:

Valentina Monetta was chosen to represent San Marino internally by San Marino RTV. Her song, Facebook (Uh, Oh, Oh), was originally presented on the 16th March 2012, however, was disqualified under rule 1.2.2.g in the rulebook of the Eurovision Song Contest due to the constant use of the word 'Facebook' which contains a commercial meaning.

San Marino RTV was given until the 23rd March 2012 to present a new version of the song which was taken up by the broadcaster ultimately ending with, The Social Network Song (Oh Oh-Uh-Oh Oh) presented on the 22nd March 2012 making San Marino the last country to present its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012.
