2About the participant:
They are a folk group of six grandmothers between the ages of 50 and 77 originally from the Russian republic of Udmurtia. Their name can be translated as Buranovo Grannies and they became known four years ago when they appeared for the first time on a TV show. They are also well-known for their folk versions in Udmurt language of popular songs by Aquarium, The Beatles or Queen.
They achieved the third position in last year's Russian national final and after that they took part in a lot of concerts including a special performance at the open air festival Rock Above Volga. They have also been touring in other European countries like Estonia and France.
They said they will use all the raised money to build a church in their hometown.
About the selection:
The final of Russian selection was held on March 7th and it was aired by the national broadcaster RTR via web and satellite. Twenty-five names in total, chosen by an expert jury, were participating in order to be the one who will be representing Russia in Baku this year.
Among the candidates there were Dima Bilan and Yulia Volkova who both represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest previously. She participated in 2003 with her partner Lena Katina as one of the members of the duo t.A.T.u and he was the Russian representative in 2006 (achieving the 2nd place) and he came back to win the contest in 2008 with the song Believe.
The winning act was decided by a combination of jury and televoting. The TV viewers could start to vote for their favourite candidates when the first entry had started and the voting closed forty minutes after the last finalist performed on stage. The jury was composed by seven experts including another former representative, the singer and songwriter Philip Kirkorov. The rest of the jury members were, Sergej Arhipov, Igor Krutoy, Aleksandr Igudin, Arman Davletyarov, Roman Emelyanov and Gennadiy Garshteyn.

About the song:
Party For Everybody is more than a traditional Russian song with an amusing touch, it is a truly outstanding song. This is a cheerful folk tune sung in Udmurt language and with a Eurodisco-style refrain in English. At one point it features a sort of spoken rap freestyle which exhorts the listener to "come on and dance" and the grannies are full of energy and sympathy. The lyrics to the song were written by themselves and their voices give a special flavour to the song.
