Latvia 2012: Anmary

Latvian broadcaster LTV selects its representative through by a national final which has for years been called Eirodziesma. This year Eirodziesma took place in NA Studio in Ventspils with the presentation of two famous faces in Latvia, Christine and Walter Virsnīte Fridenbergs. There were two semifinal and a final show was held with the twenty participants in total.

The first semi-final was held on January, 7th with ten participants, including Andris Ābelīte, member of Bonaparti.lv, who represented the Baltic country in 2007. Andris succeeded to qualify with ease. The public opinion and jury choices were decisive on the results 50/50. The qualifiers were:

• I Want You Back - Samantha Tina & Davids Kalandija
• Disco Superfly - PeR
• We Can Change the World - Andris Ābelīte
• My World - Ruta Duduma
• Celebration - Paula Dukurs

Eirodziesma 2012 continued with the second semi-final on January 15th with the same hosts in the same place. A qualifier from first semi-final, Samantha Tina also participated in the second-semifinal but she couldn't make it to the final this time. After calculations with jury and televoting results, the qualifiers were:

• Elizabete Zagorska - You are A Star
• Anmary - Beautiful Song
• Roberts Pētersons - She is a Queen
• Triānas Parks - Stars are My Family
• Mad Show Boys - Music Thief  

With the ten qualifiers in total, the final show was held on February, 18th with the same hosts in the same place. But differently from previous shows, the final included two elimination stages. The qualifiers to the superfinal was determined by jury and televote results overalls and they were Samanta Tina & Davids Kalandija, Mad Show Boys and Anmary. The same process carried on to the superfinal where Anmary got the ticket for Baku.
