Stand By is a slow love song, which you could easily imagine lighting the stadium with waving lights, between a couple with lyrics suggesting that they have just departed but are missing each other terribly. Senit sings the song very confident and strong, her voice being a perfect match to the melody.
About the participant:
Senit was born in Bologna, Italy (her parents are from Eritrea) in 1979 starting her career internationally before becoming known as an Italian singer.
She began by appearing in musicals such as; Fame, The Lion King and Hair in countries such as, Switzerland and Germany (this year's host country). However, her fame rose when she returned to Italy in 2002 releasing a debut album in 2006 followed by a second album in 2007 and a third album in 2009 (the only album of hers to date sung completely in English).
In 2010, Senit moved to the USA after visiting there before to record demo tracks with well-known producers who have worked with artists including: P!nk, Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera and Beyonce. During this time, Senit also began working on her new album taking time to work together with her new US team.
About the selection:
Senit was chosen internally by San Marino RTV to represent San Marino in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. Her song, Stand By, was the last of all participants to be presented on the 11th March.
