2011: Alexej Vorobjov - Get You

Alexej was born in 1988 in Tula, former USSR. The young star comes from a large family and is something of a Russian pop fairytale. He comes from an impoverished background, although that has never prevented his family from supporting Alexej and his talents. Despite his humble beginnings, he was encouraged to enter many talent competitions, where he also showed great promise as an accordion player.

Alexej graduated from the College of Arts in music in 2004, which he complemented by graduating in vocals from the Gnesins Jazz College. Upon completion of his studies, young Alexej’s dreams take him to Moscow, where he came to take part in the Russian version of X-Factor. He then landed a part on MTV Russia’s show Dreams of Alice and was awarded Breakthrough of the Year by MTV Russia in 2007. Not content with graduating from the Moscow Jazz College, Alexej then enrols at the Moscow Art Theatre – one for the most prestigious establishments in the whole of Russia. He has up until now released no fewer than 13 singles, starting in 2006 with his debut release, Leto. His latest single release was in 2010, when he brought out the single Shout It Out. Having already released an album penned and produced entirely by himself, Alexej is currently working on his latest release with RedOne at the helm of the project. He will be using his stage name Alex Sparrow in Düsseldorf apparently, which will come in handy when his latest album is released internationally.

He sings and performs in both English and Russian, is an accompished actor as well as a keen sportsman…is there no end to this young man’s talents? Obviously not, as he now sets his sights on conquering Europe by participating in Düsseldorf for his native Russia!
