The group 3+2 are Alena Karpovich, Ninel Karpovitch, Artsem Mikhalenka, Yehiazar Farashan and Yuliya Shyshko.
Alena and Ninel Karpovich are twin sisters. All of the group have participated in the talent show, New Voices Of Belarus and Musical Court.
It was the Musical Court programme where the idea of 3+2 originated.
One of the composers, Maxim Fadeev, is a very popular songwriter. He was also responsible for the Russian entries by Serebro and Yuliya Savicheva.
About the selection:
The original selection process for the Belarus 2010 selection was organised by ONT tv channel. They started a weekly progamme, Musical Court, to select their Eurovision entry. However, ONT were denied full membership status of the European Broadcasting Union.
BTRC channel then agreed to select the song and performer for Belarus. The group, 3+2, were internally selected and put together from the artists from the ONT Musical Court tv show.
3+2 were originally to sing the song, Far Away, but this was later changed to Butterflies, which the group and BRTC think will be better suited for the Eurovision Song Contest.
About the song:
Butterflies is a beautiful ballad. The song has a nice melody with an orchestral string sound. The song is about love and opening up your heart. Do not keep secrets and be open like butterflies.
Lyrics:
I'm gonna tell you
What is in my soul
We are so fragile,
Just like melting snow.
We've got to come to see
The beauty of love
And imagine...
And imagine...
Just imagine...
And we're like butterflies
Flying to the sun
The sun will never
Let us look inside
I believe
That all'll be opened up
But in the right time
Open-hearted wait for it
It will come
And even if you
Often were so wrong
And you denied
The wonder's possible
But you have got to see it
All the same
And imagine
And imagine...
Just imagine
And we're like butterflies
Flying to the sun
The sun will never
Let us look inside
I believe
That all'll be opened up
But in the right time
Open-hearted wait for it
And all the secrets will come out...
You the best!!!! We support
