2009: Flor-De-Lis - Todas As Ruas Do Amor

Flor-De-Lis consists of Daniela Varela (vocalist), Paulo Pereira (flute), José Camacho (guitar), Jorge Marques (cavaquinho), Ana Sofia Campeã (accordion), Rolando Amaral and Pedro Marques (percussion). The idea for Flor-De-Lis first came about when Pedro Marques was working as a percussionist in the "Adufe" project, an attraction at the Expo-98 exhibition in Lisbon, meant as a vehicle for the promotion of traditional Portuguese music and instruments. The repsonse to the project was overwhelming, resulting in a number of spin off events and performances.

Daniela Varela and Pedro Marques are the principal lyricists of the group, however they also incorporate a great deal of poetry into their work, by the likes of Eugénio de Andrade, José Régio, Ary dos Santos, and Maria José de Castro. Their sound borrows heavily from popular Portuguese music, covering all kinds of genres as diverse as fado and folk, fused with other tyoes of world music.

Vocalist Daniela has been active since a child, already showing great promise as an 8 year old, when she appeared in the production Jovens Cantores de Lisboa, as well as in plays such as Godspell and Jasmim ou o Sonho do Cinema a few years later. Daniela was forced to put her interest for music and singing on the backburner for a number of years, but rediscovered her passion and joined Flor-De-Lis in 2007.

The group have so far 1 album release to their name, Signo Solar (Sun Sign) in 2010.
