2009: Waldo’s People - Lose Control

Waldo’s People was formed in 1998 and consists of frontman Marko Reijonen, otherwise known as Waldo, Karolina Kallio (vocals), Sami Lehto (drums), Karl Sinkkonen (keyboards) and Kimmo Nissinen (guitar). Waldo has also enjoyed considerable success as a solo artist in the mid 90’s, exerting considerable influence on the Finnish dance music scene. The genre was continued by the formation of Waldo’s People, and eurodance has become their trademark sound.

During the course of their career, the band have released 3 studio albums: Waldo’s People (1998), No Man’s Land (2000), Greatest Hits (2008) and Paranoid (2009). Both Waldo’s People and No Man’s Land achieved gold status in their native Finland. The band have also released 12 singles,notching up a few major hits, most notably U Drive Me Crazy (#3, 1998), 1000 Ways (#4, 2000), Back Again (#1, 2008), Lose Control (#1, 2009) and New Vibration (#2, 2009). Lose Control also managed to chart in Sweden (#11) and Switzerland (#57) as well as picking up considerable airplay in Canada. Following the success of Back Again, the band also set out on a tour, playing to packed out clubs and venues.
