It was an impressive victory with Dima Bilan scoring 272pts to Ukriane's 230pts. His song 'Beleieve' lead from early in the voting eventually over shadowing both Ukraine and Greece. Norway had the best result since 2005 and Israel also did remarkably well. The chorus of 'Neighbour voting' is likely to come thick and fast again but it may well be considerably less than previous years.
It is likely that the 2009 contest will be held in Moscow but St. Petersberg is also a possibility.
The provisional dates for next year's contest are the 12th, 14th and 16th of May.

I guessed %90 correctly countries would vot for the last top 3 points. Lets keep those points and compare it with the next year. You will see it will be the same.
neigbours to neigbours
ortodox to ordotox
slavs to slavs
scandinavians to scandinavians
I can talk for my countries name too
12 pts will always go to Azerbaijan (we both are Turks)
10pts will go to BIH (Muslim brothers and we have Bosnian origined people)
8 pts will go to Armenia (by the Armenian minorities in Turkey)
Hmmmm, not too pleased
OK, I don't mind the fact that Russia won. Congratulations to them although there were plenty of better songs :)
And the UK joint last place with Poland and Germany???? In my view its just out of order. The UK, Germany and Poland all had great songs this year, and we finish last
Big thanks to San Marino and Ireland, but the BBC really needs to withdraw because the contest has turned into a farce. Its not about the music anymore, and thats a shame. :(
The EBU needs to make changes, otherwise there will be no western europe left anymore :(
Congrats to Russia though, they have been waiting for a win for ages :)
Goodbye from the UK :(
Where are the good songs from Western Europe???
If the old Eurovision members are sending just middle class songs or crab like Ireland and Spain, it is no wonder that other countries win... Sorry Jonny, face the reality... it is ages ago that the UK sent a really good song...
