Charlotte Perrelli hires private jet for promotion

Charlotte Perrelli hires a private jet for promotion tour

Several of this year’s participants are busy with promotion tours around Europe. For Charlotte Perrelli from Sweden the program is so tight that it has been needed to hire a private jet that can make sure she manage to visit as many countries as possible.

In order to do the double and win the Eurovision Song Contest for the second time Charlotte Perrelli is touring around Europe promoting her song, Hero. As many of her competitors she has a tight schedule coming up the next couple of weeks. Instead of doing a smaller tour she has found the solution on what to do when the regular airlines can not bring her fast enough from A to B; From Friday she will be using a private jet and to expressen.se she says that it will also be used afterwards when needed. Such an occasion will come up the 6th of June when Charlotte has two performances in Sweden where a car won’t be able to match the time schedule.

Charlotte Perrelli is among the favourites in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest and should she repeat her 1999 victory she will be going on the winners tour which will also bring her around to various European countries in a private jet so one might say that her promotion tour can also be seen as preparations for what waits if she does win on the 24th of May in Belgrade.

IN favor of Charlotte Perrelli

i am in the favor of what the artist is doing for her promotion, the contest is like the war and if everything is right in love and war then she is on the right side.....isn't she? everyone who takes part in the contest will do his/her best to promote, then why shouldn't she?????? here she should also develop a website by hiring a web designer so the positive effects could doubled its effectiveness.

private jets

I think that the issue of private jets is way overdone and hyped up. Studies show that air transport accounts for a mere 3% of the greenhouse emmissions, so private jets account up to much less than that. Even though I believe that, I also think that Charlotte Perrelli's gesture was also out of line.

Guess you're pretty much right

Yeah, I guess you're right. I do travel quite a lot, by car. It does pollute, but - as I've been told - a plane is worse.

My main point was the last bit, since many artists are having promotional activities at or around the same place it would make sense if they would just pop into the same private jet together.

It would make sense, indeed...

...I do agree with you. But here we are talking about hard business, a promotion tour, and not a "charity" event for the fans who want to see several stars. I do not think that a amanger of a big company would like to travel with one of his competitors...

Charlotte causing Global Warming?

Well, of course, Charlotte will heat up the atmosphere... singing "Hero"... But let's be honest, do we really think about Global Warming in our daily life? Wouter, have you never ever travelled by plane or driven a car? And what about all the products you consume during your life time... Do you think these products haven't caused Global Warming, as well?

Many stars use private jets, they even own jets... And as we all want to see our favourites, often, this is the only possibility for them to travel in a short time from gig to gig, from concert to concert...

Where is this all going...

Oh my god... isn't this a little bit overdone? Of course she wants to have as many promo gigs as possible, but she is seriously stretching what's possible. Hasn't she ever heare about this thing called Global Warming?

What if all artists suddenly start renting private jets?

I hope that if it happens that she and several others have to travel from places near each other that at least they will share the plane. Planepooling, I tink it should be called ;-)

The sensations of Melodifestivalen 2010

We now know the result of the four semi finals, and boy was I wrong in my predictions. I made the huge mistake of thinking that the viewer’s would vote exactly like they did last year. Then they voted all the big stars through to the final. But this year something has happened. The big question is what?! Read more

How hard can it be?

Yes, how hard can it be to select a bunch of great songs sung by good singers and let them compete against each other in a national final well set up? Apparently it is very difficult this year. Read more
