This means that the process of selecting the Malta Eurovision songs can now proceed. The date for the Maltese Eurosong final is 20 February 2010.
123 songs were submitted for the national selection. The individual acts will perform to an international jury on the 2, 3 and 4 December. 36 songs will be selected for the 2nd phase and will be performed to a different jury on 7 December.
The TV show 'L-Isfida' will showcase 6 songs each week starting very shortly. A mixture of televoting and expert jury will select the 20 songs for the national final on 20 February 2010.
