After the Czech Republic announced that they will not be participating next year, a second announcement came from Hungarian MTV that they will not be able to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest next year. Budget limitations and financial crisis are said to be main reasons behind their withdrawal.
MTV management declared that they expect that they will have to cut down their budget by 50% and they will not have enough pundits to represent their country next year in Oslo.
Hungary joined the contest in 1994 and they reached their best position, coming 4th that year, but they haven't reached the finals for the last 2 years. After withdrawing from the contest between 1999 and 2004, they made a comeback in 2005. Unfortunately this year they are withdrawing from the contest for the second time.
