Iris Hoxha to try for Festival i Kenges ...and also seeks fame in Italy

Iris Hoxha would love to represent Albania at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest and will try to participate again in the Festival i Kenges later this year. Iris is also trying to make it big in Italy by participating in a popular TV talent show.

New Presenter Revealed for Melodi Grand Prix 2011

Sukkerchok find its third member via TV programme

Popular Danish final trio that got reduced to a duo shortly after their second attempt to represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest is currently half way through their selection of a new member. 10 girls are left in the competition where the public will now be voting – one of the hopeful ones is daughter of a former Eurovision participant.

NRK call for submissions to Melodi Grand Prix 2011

A mere month after the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 was held in Oslo, Norwegian broadcaster NRK has started it's search for Didrik Solli Tangen's successor and the Norwegian entry for 2011. There are indications that NRK have every intention of continuing with same format they have employed for the last few years.

Sukkerchok released football song for World Cup

The girl band Sukkerchok who has participated in the past two national finals in Denmark has released an unofficial football song in support for the Danish national team at the World Cup in South Africa. The song is called Sukkerbold and is mixed with some football commentator sound.

SVT announces changes in the selection process for Melodifestivalen

SVT launched the rules for Melodifestivalen 2011. The big news here are that SVT will hand-pick 15 instead of 4 songs, 15 song will be picked by a jury and 2 songs will be selected by the web wild card. Foreign song composers are also now allowed to submit their entries - if they have written the song with at least one swedish composer.

Football and Eurovision fighting on the Danish charts

The ongoing World Cup in South Africa has made its way to the charts in Denmark in such a way that the entries from the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest is fighting to stay on the list. German winner Lena is still hanging on, but has dropped from first to eight!

Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2011 kicks off

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest has just ended. We are still unsure about dates and host city for next year, but the broadcasters are already starting their search for participants. DR has just opened for songwriters to submit their entry to the Danish national final.
